London Southbank University

London South Bank University founded in 1892 is located just near the South Bank of the River Thames, from which it takes its name. Structural alterations & refurbishment of the London Road Building has created a bright and airy space which offers the students and staff a variety of different zones to study & develop.

Building an open and dynamic space whilst ensuring acoustic privacy where necessary for the University was key. Creating a comfortable environment where students can collaborate easily whilst also providing private and confidential areas. With this in mind, we installed a variety of glass partition systems to ensure that all requirements were met in each location of the university.

Fire safety was one of the key design requirements for London Southbank University, ensuring the safety of both students and staff. With this in mind, Black Painted Timber Framed glazed partitions where installed throughout Levels 2&3, overlooking the atrium and new library area. Surrounding the atrium, these attractive glazed partitions allow daylight to flow into the heart of the building, creating a bright and open fit-out. These fixed glazed screens delivering 60 minutes integrity, meets both the visual and practical demands of this stylish Tertiary Education facility.

Schüco Jansen Janisol 2, 30 Minute fire rated screens were installed throughout Level 1&2 which integrates seamlessly with the rest of the partitions, creating several private offices. Offering 30 minutes integrity, this fire solution meets both the aesthetic and practical design requirements of this impressive fit-out.

This Project had the aim of achieving a high BREEAM rating. As part of the specification there was a lot of sustainable products used. Our glass partitions contributed to a healthy & comfortable Education space, that allows natural light to flow through the open plan.

For Northgate this project has provided us the opportunity to really showcase our complete capabilities.
